Regardless of so called 'several similar stories' which relate to bad experiences with this business, I would strongly recommend Peter the Pleater. Not only does it offer quality products at unbeatably low prices, it also offers unbeatable service. The fact that this is a family-run company certainly shines through. For example, although apparently all blinds companies 'offer a free measure service including Hillarys so that isn't a bonus', I seriously doubt that the measurers at Hillarys (or any other company for that matter) would offer to put up a shelf or change a lightbulb for an elderly and disabled woman regardless of how busy they were. Therefore, the fact that Peter the Pleater's measurers and fitters do go the extra mile to be as helpful as possible, certainly does class as a bonus and makes this particular blinds company unique in its outstanding customer service. As for the blinds, I have had mine for 5 years now and have not experienced any problems at all. So, don't believe all of the negative comments or reviews you read, as they are unlikely to be true and are an unfair representation of the overall experience Peter the Pleater offer.

Anyone's cheaper than Hillarys. Plus they all offer a free measure service including Hillarys so that isn't a bonus. You also have to look at quality and durability which this review doesn't address. I have bought 'cheap' blinds from this company and they don't last. so the saying goes 'buy cheap buy twice'. The blinds themselves actually worked out to about £30 each for 7 wood ones when I eventually got to the nitty gritty of the site but the total cost came to a whopping £400 for fitting. You don't get quality for £30. So it will be no surprise to find out that less that just over a year later the cord system started playing up and other problems develeoped. They were less than helpful when I contacted them. I've heard several similar stories in my local area. Anyway. I eventually replaced the blinds with ones from John Lewis ast £75 each and got a local handyman to do it all in for £80. I've had them nearly 8 years now and no problems.

I first looked at Hillarys, John Lewis and a few others in London and god where they so expensive and took ages, I then looked at blinds.co.uk or as they call peter the pleater and wow they offer a free measure service and the staff are very professional and would recommend to anyone, my blinds where cheap and look fantastic. Just give them a try like I did, you wont be sorry.
