  • 5 Excellent stables

I have been riding here for almost 16 years and would not go anywhere else. The horses and ponies are loved and cared for, and all ages and standards are catered for. The staff are dedicated and helpful. There are many people who have been going there for as long as I have. Mystified by SM's post of 3rd January...I think the star ratings from everyone else speak for themselves. Jane

  • 1 You get what you pay for

This is a cheaper option for riding schools, and it shows. They were keen to take my money, but everything after that was an utter shambles. There was no explanation of what we'd be doing, the instructor was extremely rude, and later fell off her horse, and at the end of the ride, I was shouted at for dismounting in a way they didn't like. I don't mind having my mistakes corrected, but there's a right way and a wrong way to do that. Their general attitude was extremely unhelpful, and they seemed to prefer us to get off our horses and just go away. While I am an adult and can take care of myself, I felt sorry for the young girls that were also treated quite rudely - I wouldn't want my child to learn to ride under those circumstances. I won't be going back.

  • 4 Mottingham Farm Stables

I have been riding now at Motthingham Stables for the past 4-5 years and highly recommend this riding establishment. Fantastic horses and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. All the horses are lovely (especially my personal favourite Ted!) they are in excellent condition and well cared for and looked after.

  • 4 Amazing Stables

I have at Mottingham Farm for about 3 years. I started riding there as a complete novice in children begginers the teachers explain everything and you start learning quickly. I got a lot of confidence riding at Mottingham and im not shy anymore :D I help out at Mottingham Farm at the weekends and during the holiday its a really friendly atmosphere and you get to know the teachers and they are really nice. Me and my friends lead the children and the begginers and we talk to them about position and how to hold the rains and stuff if you work hard then they give you free rides. I am now 13 and i am in Top/Middle ride my favourite horses are Snip, Spirit, Stompy and Bonnie. I have become attached to all of the horses we have about 40-50 horses and there are so many different characters that suite all abilities. I love it here and will never leave!
