• Best Tapas in London

  I took a couple of my work friends there last week. I have been to most spanish restaurants in London because I love the cuisine, and I have to say this is by far the best! We got there early in the hope that there would be a table free, and to our luck there was. We ordered some Sangria and picked various different tapas dishes from the menu. Our food arrived rather quickly and all of it was wonderful. The crab cakes in particular were amazing. The bill came and we were pleasantly surprised that it was only £15.50 each! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

• Spanish Treat

  Such a nice treat to find a good quality tapas bar in London, let alone Camden! I went there with some friends a couple of weeks ago and was very pleasantly surprised! Its a true escape away from the normal grimey dim lit pubs and bars you usually find yourself in when in Camden. We started with some Sangria...and what a great way to start! The Sangria was wonderful! We went on to order our mains. The only problem we encountered was that everything looked so good, we ended up ordering too much! Everything was perfectly flavored and delicious. I will definitely be going back!

• A Taste of Spain

  This tapas bar feels like a bit of a Camden institution to me. It’s been sat quietly on Inverness Street for as along as I can remember. It pretty much keeps itself to itself, which is good, because if any more people knew about it you’d never be able to get a seat. The atmosphere is perfect so far as tapas joints go. Hearty, homely, busy, intimate and full of laughs and sangria.We arrived at Bar Gansa on a Saturday night around 9 o’clock with six people with some sort of idea in our minds that booking a table would be unnescesary. Thankfully we were proven right. The friendly staff shoved a few tables together in what seemed like barely enough space for four, but we fitted in alright. Knowing a little about tapas I knew what I liked, as did a few others in the group. Together we came up with a list of dishes, we figured two or three per person would be about right, and went ahead and ordered.Almost.We were told as we began that the kitchen was out of chorizo. Not a good sign for anywhere Spanish. Oh, and pork. No lomo. No jamon iberico or serrano. As we scanned the menu to see what was left we considered finding somewhere else, but in the face of the late hour and uncertain seating we decided to soldier on. Besides, we already had our Sangria. We were told it had been a particularly busy night but for a kitchen to run out of so many important basics seems more like a lack of foresight, especially if the staples are cured meats - surely over-stocking can never hurt? It’s not like they’re going to go off tomorrow.Luckily for us there was still pollo aplenty so we made the best of that, ordering three chicken dishes, some prawns and a variety of veg such as the classic patatas bravas and some garlic mushrooms. None of it really stood out as amazing, but the quality was consistently good across the board with none of the dishes letting down the side. The chicken was juicy, the sauces rich, the patatas very bravary. The only downside was that we hadn’t ordered quite enough and managed to pick the dishes clean.The bill came in at a very pleasant 15 quid each, though I don’t think an extra dish each would have gone amiss, so perhaps 20 is a more reasonable average. I’ll be heading back soon, hopefully this time with a booking and a little earlier in the day so I can sample the real meat.It was rather an unwelcome return to reality when we left to find ourselves in Camden on a cold September day with a fine mist of rain insisting its way through the air. It made me want to go back inside and order another jug of sangira.

• Buenos noches Camden.

  A delightful little spanish bar cum restaurant on the cusp of Inverness Street and Camden High Street, Bar Ganza is a wonderful venue for an afternoon coffee on the outside terrace after a heavy day's shopping at the market, or for a night of Sangria, Tapas and flamenco dancing with a special someone in your life. Inside it is colouful, cheerful and romantically candle lit and the rosy cheeked staff are smiley and accommodating. The flamenco performances on monday evenings are truely magical and seemed authentically passionate to my uneducated eyes. The tapas was yummy too if a little pricey. For a flavour of Siville in Camden you can't go wrong with a night out at Bar Ganza.

• great tapas

  We took some overseas guests to Bar Gansa and it was a resounding success. The restaurant was a lot less crowded than I'd expect on a Thursday night, and the staff were very friendly. Service was quick. The tapas is as good as any I've had in the UK, doing the classics well (patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo) and also offering some other interesting dishes such as a salad with Manchego and orange. Eating plenty of tapas, with 1/2 beers each came to around £20 per person (including service charge). Recommended for a fast, tasty meal with atmosphere in Camden.

• Spanish food in a cosy place

  Being Spanish is hard to find a Spanih place I'm happy with. Bar Gansa is one of my favorites: very good tapas place at a reasonable price. Tapas in Bar Gansa are different, with a modern style, and really nice. This is also a good place to have a cocktail while listening to Spanish music.

• Authentic Tapas outside of Spain

  This little place near Camden Town station is easily the best Tapas place you will find in London. Start your meal with a glass of Sangria, you will feel like you are in Spain already. Follow up by a mouth watering selection of your favourite calamari, chorizo in red wine, grilled prawns and the paella is simply to die for! Finish the evening with more delicious coctails, which are even better value before 7pm during the week. To top everything up, you can even indulge in some Flemenco on some days (please check with restaurant for performance time).

• spanish and lively - stunning breakfasts

  Bar Ganza staff can be slow off the mark sometimes, which can be infuriating, but the food is good,The decor is fun and it's a lively fun place which sometimes has live Spanish entertainment. Especially good (and less hectic) for it's great range of unusual and delicious breakfast dishes. Very lively in the evenings.
