Deaf Visitors Improvements

We've implemented our latest scheme to improve disabled visitor access. The display of archive film hs always been very popular with visitors, it's a fascinating view of a bygone world of canals in the inter-war years. The idea of putting sub-titles on it came from a specialist translation company who approached us as a potential customer and whilst we get loads of people trying to sell services, this one seemed different. They also suggested that the interactive "talking head" that we have to "chat" with 19th century ice importer Carlo Gatti should have the same treatment, and that there should be some British Sign Language on our website. In the end we decided to go with all three of these but there were complications. Sub-titles on the archive film either meant a smaller picture, or a bit of the picture being covered, or we'd have to spend money on a new larger monitor.
