48 Berwick Street,
Although we became a limited company in 1902 when William Sitch moved the company to our premesis in 48 Berwick Street and put his name above the door, the first records of a "Sitch" working in the field appears in the marriage registry of Saint Anne's Church, Soho in 1770. Currently Ronald Sitch, described in the press as a “living national treasure” and his sons James and Laurence, manage the business. The company specialise in the reproduction and renovation of antique light fittings, and has a vast stock of antique fittings for sale, as well as a range of reproductions manufactured using traditional techniques. We will repair, rewire or renovate clients’ own fittings. In addition to this we can convert vases to lamps and have a polishing shop on site where we colour and finish the metal work of the light fittings, as well as other items that customers bring in such as stair rods, and even boat propellers! We have restored Napoleon’s lantern, signed and dated "1814, Elba", the wall brackets in the State Dining Room of number 10 Downing Street, as well as supplying the wall bracket for the film the Titanic.
