British Swimming Championships

Members of Britain's triumphant Olympic swimming team will be back in the water this week at the British Gas Swimming Championships 2009 at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. The event provides a chance for established members of the squad to seal their place in the squad for the World Championships in Rome later this year. Younger members of the squad will be hoping to impress British Swimming Head Coach Dennis Pursley and prove their worth in the build up to London 2012. Pursley says “This is my first opportunity to see a British Championships and I am going into it with no pre-conceived ideas or expectations. I am quite open to what is going to happen and I am really looking forward to it."
