Crystal Palace Tower Hotel

I booked a room at the beginning of the week for saturday 4 Oct for my sister in law and her partner as it was my daughter's 1st birthday. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant, said there was a room available and took my card details and my phone number. I said that they would be checking in at some point on the saturday but unfortunately we didn't get there until 10.30pm. When I rang on the intercom and said we had arrived, she told me that she had given the room away as we hadn't checked in earlier that day. As far as I was concerned, she'd taken my phone number and my card details so therefore the room was mine, regardless of what time we booked in. She had made no attempt to call me to find out what was happening and why we hadn't checked in and was extremely rude when I questioned how she could have given the room away, even putting the intercom down on me and blaming me. I really wouldn't recommend staying there as your room might not be there when you arrive. I chose that particular hotel because of previous reviews saying 'a really lovely kiwi welcome' well I found them extremely rude and would CERTAINLY NOT recommend for anyone to stay there
