I have been a member of numerous gyms throughout the years and I can whole heartedly contend that despite the previus poor comments, I believe thirtysevendegrees is without a shadow one the friendliest, most enjoyable and well facilitated gyms I have ever had been too, let alone been a member of.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT 37 DEGREES A few months ago i went there with a friend, and being a member at another gym with another 6 months left on the contract, the sales girl promised that i could have cancelled at any time given proof of "change of address", so I had been stupid enough to sign up. I had visited and tried the gym when it opened, and i liked it the first time around, but after signing the contract, i walked into the gym area and it was packed, no machines were free, so I IMMEDIATELY said I wanted to cancel the membership. The girl persuaded me to have a trial, and after realising the poor quality of the machines, i told them i was not interested. After many phone calls to find out what was happening, i had to go there in person and spoke to the manager, who sat with me for 3 minutes and all he said was: bottom line you signed a 12 months contract and you have to pay" - even if i cancelled 2 MINUTES after signing the contract. I wrote a letter, cancelled the direct debit, and NEVER HEARD FROM THEM, never had a copy of the contract, or a membership card. 6 months later, i get a letter from a credit management company saying i owe them £444!!!!! I AM FURIOUS! They are some filthy greedy people, only interested in making money! Don't get fooled!

I have used this gym for over a year solely due to the convenience factor (its the closest gym to my work). Overall the facilities and classes are good. However, the management of the gym seriously lack customer service skills. Any problems take weeks to sort out, for example when hairdryers brake they take weeks to replace. Most recently the showers have been completely cold for over a week and only now are 'experimental fixes' being tried. Requests for any compensation have been declined noting that they haven't actually removed a service from users - showers are still available. This may be true, but I didn't sign up for freezing cold showers and for a gym surrounded by offices it really isn't satisfactory. Not what you would expect given the cost of the gym.
