The Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes have 8 classic bowling lanes offering you an authentic bowling experience right in the centre of London.
Enjoy a cocktail and our famous 'Lane Snacks' whilst bowling, or watch all the action from our Swivel Bar. If it’s something more substantial you’re after, try our full service Bloomsbury Diner.
Bloomsbury Lanes is so easy to get to. Situated below the hip Tavistock Hotel – it’s just a 3 minute walk from Russell Square Tube and a short walk from Holborn and the West End.
So whether you’re meeting up with friends or want to hold a private bowling event for a large group the Bloomsbury Lanes has it all.
Forget bowling past, the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes is totally unique for London or indeed anywhere!
Our team have created a venue that takes it's lead for 1950's America, where bowling was the height of style.
Many of our guests comment about the fantastic atmosphere that we have. This is mostly due to the vibrant mix of people whom we attract but also the care and time our team put into the venue.
Look closely and you will notice features such as our sleek above lane ball returns (sourced from Canada of all places), our bar made from old bowling lanes wood and our pristine 1950's carpet, which had spend 40 years in storage before we found it.
Went to BBL with colleagues and what a great night out. It felt as genuine (of a bowling alley) as it gets - great tunes, good greasy food, and huge bar. A pity the lanes and kareoke rooms are fully booked by the time one gets there - apparently they take most bookings by phone, but a few time slots can be booked at the venue at 8pm. It does get quite busy... so arrive early! maybe time to open another venue!?
Bloomsbury Bowl has an excellent range of drinks. Just because the place has a 50's style does not mean they have to extend that to bad American beers and milk shakes. Bloomsbury Lanes in my view is ideal for a night out. Good mix of people and impressive music.
The theming of the place and actual bowling was really good but a few of us went for food afterwards and the service was appalling. The tables we had reserved were already being sat on, then we ordered food and waited TWO HOURS in total for it to arrive sporadically with people getting their side dishes an hour before the main dish. The actual food was nice but the waitresses were pretty useless and couldn't remember what anyone had ordered. There was one girl who helped to rectify things but after two hours it was a bit pointless.Definitely just go there for the bowling and atmosphere, find somewhere else to eat! Also, to say the theming was so good the actual bar drinks were a bit strange, lots of European lagers etc.
