Bought a bike from this shoddy outfit in October for £250. Withuin weeks, it needed new brakes, bottom bracket, headset, rear wheel, tyres. And then the frame broke. It cost over £600 for less than 6 months use. They refused any compensation. I am now suiing and complaining to Camden Trading Standards. they are dishonest and dangerous.

Great Place with great advice! I purchased a hybrid Claudbutler Levente with these guys through the Bike to Work Scheme. They spent a large amount of time walking me through what I needed, how to look after the bike, what the various mechanisms and tweaks do to achieve max performance! They even provided 2 months free service! Very Knowledgable and Very helpful team!

This is a great place. Honest and fair prices and I've seen that they have a good selection of secondhand bikes but above all polite and nice staff always try to help you out.

Shady people – you take a high risk of making bad deal if you don’t know much about bikes like me: I paid over half of the bike’s retail value but was told it was only 2 years old and that I could return within 2 weeks. A week later I discovered the bike was over 5 years old and that as a result the wheels would need to be replaced as they were worn out. I wanted to return within the 2 week time-frame but was told they would reimburse me only part of my purchase price. Together with the new wheels I will end up paying over 70% of the bike’s retail price…

A very helpful excellent local bike shop with experienced mechanics...I took my Marin Kent-field to Camden Cycles...A professional advice from Vincent has solved my problem once and for all. Actually my bike had some clinking noises which i could not figure out ...I took the bike to few local shops and every mechanic gave me different advice ...some told me change the bottom brackets....some told me change pedals.... and some even recommended that frame have some internal cracks......When i asked to fix the problem with this surety that i would not have the noise coming again they actually was not sure. Vincent at Camden cycles found out the problem in the back wheel cassette.....Replaced the cassette body and problem was solved for good....The advice for Emilly is that as far as i know wrong size tyre would not go over the wheel if you don't believe me try it yourself .....even few mm different tyre (small or big)would not go over the wheel and if Camden cycles have done so then probably they are the magicians.......

Im not generally one for complaining but i feel a duty to bring this to the attention of the public as the work that Camden cycles did on my bike could of caused a fatal accident. I wanted a puncture proof tyre on my front racing wheel. So i asked them if it would be possible and they agreed and fitted the tyre, however the tyre came of the rim of the wheel while i was cycling and the inner tube exploded. I took the bike back to the shop, they tried to blame me and eventually they fixed it just charging me for the inner tube. The next time i used the bike i got a flat tyre again. This time i phoned the technical team of the tyre manufacturers. They confirmed that the tyre they had fitted was not compatible with the wheel. So Camden Cycles fitted a tyre that was incompatible with my wheel not taking in to account the specs of the tyre manufacturers. When i returned to the shop and explained this asking for the money back they refused, the total bill was over £50 and the work could have been fatal if i had been travelling down hill at speed when it exploded. Their replies to the situation included statements such as its only a couple of mm's different. Avoid for your own safety and pocket.

Avoid. - Charged me 50 pounds for a repair and the bike was in worse shape after the repair than before. - Said they were going to call before doing the repair with a quote but didn't call. - Seem knowledgeable when you first talk to them but are incompetent. Turned out the used (!) rear wheel they put on my bike didn't even fit, so the brakes wouldn't work and the mudguards had to come off, but they claimed there was a problem with my frame (!). Took my bike to a proper repair shop who fixed it without problems. There was nothing wrong with the frame. - Promised they would order a fitting rear wheel for me and call me when it arrived but never called. - All talk but really don't care about their customers. - Gave them an opportunity to comment before I posted this review but they couldn't be bothered.
