My Chiropodist is a private State registered Podiatrist dealing with all aspects of Podiatry. The most common complaints we deal with are corns and calluses, veruccae, and ingrowing toenails. We also specialise in biomechanical problems, and sports related injuries such as heel pain (plantar fasciitis), achilles tendonitis and shin splints. Podiatrists or chiropodists assess, diagnose and treat problems of the foot and lower leg below the knee. We also focus on tending minor infections and ailments. Anyone wishing to practise under the title 'podiatrist' or 'chiropodist' must be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). Pallve the Osteopath uses a structural approach including soft tissue techniques, articulations and joint mobilisations reinforced by postural advice and home exercises. Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis & treatment that lays emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body. Most commonly, osteopaths treat: low back pain, sciatica, neck and upper back pain, peripheral joint pain (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, foot), workplace strains e.g. RSI, sports injuries e.g. tennis and golfer's elbow, backache in pregnancy, symptoms of chronic conditions, e.g.,asthma, arthritis, stiffness associated with wear and tear, effects of trauma, e.g., whiplash, muscle strains, ligament sprains, period pain, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, migraines, postural problems & many others.
