Charlton Athletic Football Club is an English professional football team based in the London Borough of Greenwich, currently playing in League One of the English Football League. The club is based at The Valley and is known by it's fans as The Addicks. Historically, Charlton's most successful period was the 1930s, when the club finished runners up in the First Division, and the 1940s, when the club reached the FA Cup final twice, winning in 1947.
