  • Melaka Restaurant I LOVE this place

The reviewer below had a real go at the restaurant but I just don't recognise the criticism. I've been to this place about 5 times and really rate it. I think the food great and so is the service. The boss Shah is always very friendly and ensures we get the best out of the whole dining experience. The downside of this place is that it can be a bit hard to find (especially if you don't know the east end). But once I did eventually make it there I was pleased. The hot and sour seafood soup is outstanding.

  • Melaka Restaurant Disappointed

This restaurant was a real let down. My girlfriend and I arrived at five to 8 for dinner and had to wait until nearly half past 8 before we were even asked for our drinks order. The waiter seemed to have something better to do and we were made to feel distinctly unwelcome throughout the meal. The food was average if you are from the UK, and poor if you have enjoyed true Malaysian cusine. Overall, a real let down...

  • Melaka Restaurant A wolf in sheeps clothing!

This unassuming restaurants looks like nothing from the outside (it's not even that easy to find), but once you taste the food you'll realise its a wolfs in sheeps clothing. I took my Singaporean girlfriend there yesterday and we were suprised by just how authentic the food really is. To start we shared a Sotong Goreng (squid), which was just outstanding. Not rubbery like it is in so many restaurants. For mains we went tradional with a chicken rendang, and a nasi goreng but complimented it with the steamed sea bass. Honestly all of it knocked our socks off. Really fresh, well presented and tasty. At the end they throw in a couple of complimentary desserts which were really nice but not very authentic. Overall we loved the place, its way better than most Malaysians. We're going back soon!
