In my experience of a prospective tenant, I can only agree with the above statement. Future costomers must be protected against this company.

I would strongly advise you to stop advertising this company on your website. They are, in effect, conmen. We are landlords and used them last year to find us a tenant for one of our properties. A suitable tenant was found and they charged us a finders fee of one months rent, which was fine. They also took a deposit from the tenants of £996.66p and confirmed it would be held in a Tenants Deposit Scheme. Over the past year we have been trying to get details of where this money was held and they continually fobbed us off. We also checked with every Deposit scheme in the UK and they are not registered with any of them. The tenants are now vacating the property on Friday. We called Opendoors and spoke to a Mr Hyland who informed us the company had changed from Opendoorsestatesltd to Opendoorsestates.com ltd and that there was no association with the old company. I checked with Companies house and Opendoorestates.com ltd was formed in August 2007 with a director called Kim Crawford who was also a diredtor of the old company. She resigned from the company in January 2008. Mr Hyland said that, as a gesture of goodwill, they would return the deposit. Since then they do not answer our calls and obviously have no intention of returning this money. This is a total scam and I am concerned that they can get away with this. It is fraud and theft. I have contacted BBC Watchdog about it and am also contacting Office of Fair Trading and Trading Standards. Please stop advertising this company as they are crooks. Sean Duffy
