We started the evening in Baker street, witing for our Dubai school friends, my sisiter and I. We chose the restaurant because it seemed to have a lovely atmosphere but was fairy cramped when as we soon realised when we sat down. We were promptly served by a waitress who brought us menus... which were much to be desired as they where printed out on A4 white paper and put in plastic sleeves. Floppy and quite unimpressive for a restaurant in this area. The menu had lots of wonderful dishes... displayed in ascending order of price. We orded a break basket which was lovely with tomato bread, a subtle chilli sauce and olives. Only 3 of us from the party of 5 were eating a main meal, the other two had drinks. My pet hate at any restaurant is bad service. Our main waitress was fine, but the lady who brought our food over was manner less and idiotic. She brought our food to us before our starters had been cleared and and when i asked if she might put it down she either didn't understand or was being extremely rude. So we cleared our plates away ourselves to make room for the arriving main meal. I was silently fuming. .Had we been in a pizza hut or tapas, I would not have minded but seeing that none of the other tables appeared to have been served in this manner, it really upset me. Between us we had various dishes : Smoked Salmon Tagliatele, Asparagus Risotto, Rib-eye Steak and mashed potatoes. The food was lovely. This was the best part of the restaurant. We were brought the desert menu's after finishing our main and plates were taken away. We shared a chocolate tart with raspberry coulis... tasty but nothing incredible. Payment was very quick and prompt and we were able to pay by both cash and card. There was a 10% service charge already included on the bill which considering the majority and most important art of our meal was, I think, unfair. In any case we did not feel the need to add any additional tip. I am in retail and know at length about customer service, there was a minimal amount here. product: good. Display, average. I also have close friends whom work in restaurants, so i am not exaggerating anything either. Enjoy the food but watch out for the service :)
