The Beehive is a pub that serves a variety of beers, wines and sprits as well as a selection of traditional English food. Catering for private parties of up to 60 guests is available upon request. They also have darts and fruit machines as well as a big screen TV showing major sporting events on Sky TV. Seating in the garden area is provided, weather permitting.
Went in during the Ashes and unfortunately the Beehive has got even worse. The landlady is now ruder than ever when it comes to customer service. Even the stranger next to me commented after being served..."blimey, there's nothing like service with a smile!" You can't put a price on basic manners, and that's why I won't be going back.
Good pub to meet before or after cricket matches at the Oval cricket ground. Also good for watching weekend sport.

HOT - The pub is nice and warm inside with multiple fireplaces running to keep the whole room cosy & toasty. Perfect for a cold winter day. Cold - The staff attitude can vary quite a bit, during my last visit I did not get a single smile from the staff. Which is enough to make me think twice before returning.
Okay, so The Prisoner was before my time, but I appreciate the sentiments of the famous cry "I'm not a number - I'm a free man!". So thank-you Beehive for not turning me into a number just because I want to order food. No table number, no order number, just an ability of the staff to find you when your food is ready. Food, beer and environment are all very good.
A few of my colleagues and I have recently visited the Beehive on several occasions, and found that the customer service is not living up to its previous standard. The lady behind the bar (landlady we presume) seems to have forgotten how to smile or just generally be pleasant when you order food/drink, and when the food is brought to your table. They have a rule where you can only use your card for purchases of £10 or over (seems high) yet even when you do so she often mumbles comments. One colleague spent £9.80 and she was very rude to him when he brought out his card, muttering "you lot are costing me a fortune!" Between us we must have spent hundreds (if not thousands) now at this pub, however if the customer service doesn't improve, and we're not made to feel welcome (like before) then we will be going elsewhere, and advising our colleagues to do the same. Shame really, as we thought we had finally found a friendly, honest pub with good food in Vauxhall, although we seem to have been mistaken.
Nice pub, good food, friendly and efficient service...well worth a visit.
Some pubs are too old school Coronation Street or queen vic type of pubs others are too modern and have no character, this pub on the other hand has a good combination of the two. All the mod cons plasma screen, respectable toilet facilities etc, yet complemented with the original log beams. Oh and the foods worth checking out as well, looking forward to trying out the beer garden in the summer.
