This is an incredibly poor example of a persian restaurant in London; appauling service. I was shocked to see its owner and his son lead a pro- ahmadinejad demonstration in London recently (featured on the news) which I think says it all!!! I certainly don't want to line the pockets of these Hezbollah people. If you want a nice experience at a persian restaurant in London with great friendly service, I reccommend Sufi on Askew Road, Acton.
The worst service I have ever had. The food was unbelievably delicious but rudeness of the staff can be a good reason for me not to ever go back.

Was taken to this restaurant by some Iranian friends who highly reccommend it. Its not located in a very nice place but the food is very good. The restaurant is made up of a number of rooms, each differently decorated. I didn't manage to have a look around but I was assured by my friends that they are beautifully decorated. The room we sat in was decorated with persian rugs, pots, paintings and tea sets. There was also a caged parrot nearby who whistled whenever the waiters walked past much to the amusement of several children. We ordered the mixed starters which is worth trying out if you've never had persian food before and have people to share with! As a main I ordered the Chello Kebab Koubideh - skewered lamb with rice, which was very cheap at £5! The portions are generous and could easily be shared between two. I could not finish my meal and had to take it home with me. Be careful though, it smells bad when taken away! Everytime I opened my bag, people sniff the air and look at me funny. Don't let that put you off though, it tastes delicious. My only gripe is that the staff were not very pleasant. Great place though!
Behesht is always packed and people queue up to get a table. We always get great service and the staff are corteous and charming. Food is top notch and cheap.
Another perfect example of why customer service matters. The ONE AND ONLY REASON I avoid Behesht is their rude and arrogant management and staff. Everything else is perfect. In my book, they get one star. I go to restaurants to both eat AND enjoy my time.

I went to this place for my Dad's birthday and it was a disaster. Yes, the food is good, but the service is very poor - slow, don't answer questions, have to be asked twice...We asked for some tap water for the table and the first time was ignored, the second time we were brought a bottle of mineral water. We queried this and said that we only want tap water (i.e we don't want to pay for mineral water), and was REFUSED! I have NEVER had that in any cafe or restaurant EVER! When we asked why, we had a few different responses from different waiters but basically their excuse was: "we don't have a licence from the counil to serve tap water" - "the tap water is un-hygenic"! it's SHOCKING! Obviously it was total rubbish and simply a way for their tight, money grabbing owner to get more money from people. I had to resort to drinking a glass of ice cubes! (we asked about the ice cubes by the way, and they make them from the tap water!). It was laughable. I'm pretty sure that it is ILLEGAL to not serve tap water to guests if they request it anyway. When we refused to pay the service charge we were then intimidated and insulted by about 3 waiters who all stood over us. All in all - I would avoid this place completely, there are far better food places on Edgware Rd.
