Rasa is a chain of award-winning restaurants that serve a variety of Indian dishes. Rasa W1 is also part of this chain and serves a menu of tantalisingly delicious vegetarian dishes from Kerala. Catering for private parties of up to 100 people is available upon request. A takeaway menu is also available.
London Underground: Bond Street
Not impressed with Rasa at all. Restaurant was old and tired, plates and cuttlery were old and didn't match. The food was nothing special and was over priced. Service was pretty ordinary. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.
Rasa are an Indian restaurant specialising in food from the region of Kerala.I usually take the Vaddakan Feast which is a selection of delicious pre-meal snacks, starters, curries, and desert. The pre-meal snacks (poppadoms, banana chips and other crispy things) are always the first highlight - they come with fantastic pickles and chutneys. The chicken samosas are great; the spices in the filling are well balanced and the samosas go perfectly with the tomato chutney that comes with it. Banana Boli is another of my favourites: crispy plantain slices. I love their Mori Kachiathu (mango and banana in yoghurt with green chillies, ginger and curry leaves) though unfortunately as a main course it is not very filling, but it makes a great side dish. The dosas are also great – lots of different flavours from the pancake and the chutneys. The Rasa is my favorite restaurant for non-standard, above average Indian food that is served in an unpretentious setting. It is neither cheap nor hugely expensive and considering the quality of the food I think it is very good value for money.
