  • Da Mario Poor service!

    When a friend told me she book a table at a nice little Italian restaurant in Covent Garden, I thought we could not go wrong considering the amount of nice small Italian restaurants in the area. Whenever I go to a restaurant, I do not just go for the food, I go for an experience, and this is one experience I will not try again. The food was average (I could find better, a lot better!!!) but the best bit was the level of service. I know that you do pay for service and this is not the Ivy, but you would at least expect the waiters or even the manager to be polite and helpful, sadly no. To be honest if you want some Italian food just before you go to the theatre and everywhere else is full then I would say you’re stuck. If you were going for dinner then I would recommend you go elsewhere.

  • Da Mario Rude!

    I was invited to this restaurant for a friends birthday and I was expecting the usual type of friendly service normaly experienced in a small place like this. To my disappointment the party was greeted by grumpy waiters and a down right rude 'manager' who made me feel it was a hassle to buy a bottle of champagne for the birthday girl! (He didn't find it a hassle to try and palm me off with an inferior brand to the one I ordered for the same price though!) This was a real shame as the food was quite nice. There are too many great Italian restaurants in London to waste your time eating here, we won't be back!
