The food is good and is a reasonable price. I have only been to the one in Leister Square on Saturday nights and itis always very busy and there is a very long wait for food.I got told that they had no seats upstairs so should have a drink in the bar and the pager they'd give me would go off when a seats ready. Sat down in the bar and straight away the pager beeped which was a bit wierd. The food is well presented and overall the restaurant is well kept with a strong mexican feel to it.

  • 8 good value

ChiquitoIs a national chain of mexican restaurants, we went in here primarily because it was good value, lunctime special of two for 8 pounds in leicster square is incredible value. We sat upstairs where it turned out we were the only dinners. The portions were massive and I had trouble finishing mine, I only managed it as it was really nice chilli. The decor is bright and cheery and mexican themed, its clean and the service was very speedy, this could have been as we were the only ones in for some reason though! The prices are a lot higher in the evenings but I can recommed this as a inexpensive place for lunch. The menu is quite inventive too with a variety of wonderful mexican dishes, the lunchtime offer is limited to a smaller choice though

  • 4 Nice food, long wait

The good: the spicy food here is on par with some of the better Mexican you can find, as well as some Amercian type steak and sandwich options. The staff are friendly and try their best with the busy hours and it's entertaining when the Tequila girl comes round with a smile. It’s located right in Leicester Square, making it easily accessible from the many nearby stations. The bad: you can wait for much more than half an hour for a table and sometimes they'll just queue you at the entrance door which is not very organised. It's very noisy if you get a table downstairs due to the lively bar, so if you're planning to have a good chat over dinner

  • 2 Zero customer service

We have been to this restaurant several times with mixed results, but have given them the benefit of the doubt in the past. The last visit on the May bank holiday takes the cake! Seating was taking 20 minutes, but we waited nearly an hour even though we asked several times why our buzzer wasn't working. Instead of seating us immediately, the snotty hostess instructs me not to speak to her aggressively, telling me we ignored the buzzer that never rang. Then the "bouncer" comes over and proceeds to insult my wife. Needless to say, we left and spent our money elsewhere and will not return. Don't waste your time on barely average food and service levels that could be done better by teenagers - this group knows little about how to run a restaurant and satisfy customers. AVOID THIS PLACE!

  • 6 Tex Mex Touristico

It's a massive bar and restaurant right on Leicester Square. It serves what passes as Tex Mex in the UK.It's everything you should expect it to be!Chiquito serves fairly standard tex mex food - pretty much all frozen prepackaged fare. Nothing wrong with that of course, but don't kid yourself that there is anything authentic about this experience. The food was hot, tasty and well presented. Service was a little slow (though they were very busy when we went) but polite and friendly. The best things about this restaurant are location, atmosphere (a great party place I suspect)and the drinks list! The price was reasonable given that it is a tourist trap right on Leicster Square. To bad we ate too much to save room to try the deep fried ice cream dessert!

  • 2 Avoid!

Chiquito used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in central London. That has changed however. Last time I went there, I was this close to punch the waiter in the nose and leave*. Service is simply awful. They never get the orders right. Food comes late, cold, dry and tasteless. Or if it's fajita, it's always burnt! For the ridiculously high price you pay, you get zero satisfaction. All dishes taste and even look the same. It's a shame because I really really like their frozen margaritas!*: Regarding the punching thing, I'm a cool tempered person. But when the waiter goes "Pffft" and gives me the nasty look when I say "I'm paying in cash," and won't need the credit card reader he "dropped" in front of me, he does deserve a response just as good as his! Because I was with a respectable friend from Germany(Ex's sister in law!), I decided to stay calm, leave only 2p tip and leave! If I was alone, I would have said something nasty or asked for his manager. Luckily for him, I was in an extremely good mood that day! So, yeah. If you're bored and want to pick a fight with a bunch of arrogant [bleeeps], go to Chiquito! Otherwise, my advice is to avoid this dumpster at all costs. Go to McDonalds if you have to waste your money!!!

  • 6 Mexican on the square!

Feel like a bit of vibe with your meal? This is the place to come! I have had a variety of meals here as I have been a few times, with friends as well as family and coleagues. I think my all-time favourite is the platter for two though, this I share with my husband. It has a variety of chickens, potatos bacon pieces, tacos etc. and is really tasty. It is hot, but does not have too much chilli. You can sit outside too if the weather permits. This looks onto Leicester Square which is rather nice! Space here is very limited though. One GREAT thing about this restaurant is there is no longer a smoking area - yay! It is ALL non smoking.Just a warning - they do NOT do bookings here, and on the weekends it is manically busy... so be prepared to put your name on a list and have to sit in the bar for at least an hour before you eat!
