  • Geales Restaurant Ltd Reopened at last, but keep hold your breath

    I had been waiting with baited breath for the institution of Geals to reopen. I was disappointed; the fish inside the battered rocks was lovely, but no fish and chips was worth this price. The restaurant was all style and no content. Finally the staffing was weird, loads of serving people who failed to notice anything and there appeared to be one person simply to stand around looking well, standing aroundish (they did nothing).

The business says...Local favourite Geales is an old-fashioned fish and chip restaurant which has been frying up its simple, delicious seafood dishes for over 68 years. The subdued décor adds a hint of Notting Hill glamour to this otherwise straightforward restaurant, but it's the fish that everyone has come for. Specials come fresh from Devon and Cornwall, and there are plenty of favourites such as dressed crab, salmon and leek fishcakes and oysters straight from the bar.
