Restoration/Rebinding/Repair

Book Repair and Rebinding all comes under the Restoration heading.

We would like to think that all books will last forever, some are prone to need rebinding early due to economic binding methods, lack of respect in use, bad storage or what we all like to think it is "over use". But it is surprising the number of volumes we repair and rebind, that the original binding has failed through age, as the original covering material has dried out and is no longer able to offer the protection it was originally meant for.

All repairs  will need long lead times, even small cloth recovers are better if left longer than our new binding times, as when the old coverings and bindings are undone, further work than the originally expected may arise.
