I've just come back from Dressed2kill where I took my hat to be repaired. It is a vintage fur hat with vintage silver lining - a repair job that is as simple as re-lining a jacket sleeve (which I thought for a tailor would be a doddle). This hat is a particularly special item for me as it's one my grandmother gave me. The lining came away and so I asked them to re-sew it (invisibly and with care). They charged me £10 for a ridiculously bad job and something I could’ve done myself — the stitches were not invisible, as I had requested and have now punctured the vintage lining of which I took great care to ensure was protected. I'm so disappointed with myself for feeling intimidated into handing over the money. It's a very quiet shop with snooty staff. The staff were notably rude, unpleasant and uncaring. The day they said I could pick it up, it wasn't ready and I had to wait till after the weekend to pick it up. I know I sound like a fusspot but I'm so incensed by this place. I've never written a review like this but feel I must air my views about he terrible job they did. I would never recommend this place.
