Years back, my husband used to come to this shop to buy his beloved He-Man figures, and 20 years later, he was back to buy a bike to commute into work on. We're both so pleased we decided against going to Halfords, because the service we got was absolutely fantastic. Within 2 minutes of walking in, someone was with us to find out what we wanted. Within a minute of that, the bike expert person was with us to talk us through the options. Husband told him his budget, and instead of pushing him towards the top end, he showed him pretty much exactly the type of bike he was after (a cheapish town-trail sort of thing). If anything, husband was really trying to get him to recommend a mountain bike and thankfully, rather than trying to flog him something completely unsuitable, he gently steered him back towards the original brief. The bike was fully assembled, and any little adjustments were done there and then. Husband managed to have a most helpful discussion with the father of the person who served him, about the best cycle routes into work. As though all of this wonderfulness wasn't enough, there was a massive range of very reasonably priced toys for our two littlies to keep them occupied, and I managed to buy them both something for under a tenner, which I thought was fantastic. I will definitely be going back. I really don't think there is anything Ditchfields could improve on! It is just what it says 'on the tin' - family run traditional toy and bike shop, and long may it continue to trade!
