I agree with everything that sasha wrote. This place is amazing and has even better facilities. However the staff are fresh off the boat and for some reason feel the need to be rude and unhelpful to everyone. Most of the members are 'getting on a bit' but are eagle eyed when it comes to a child being in the wrong part of the club and then they start tutting loudly or telling the manager. Once that generation have 'moved on' this place could be great. at the moment it's no more than a status symbol and an overly expensive convention center. Having said all that I will definitely be going next time i get an invite.

  • 7 Best Country Club in London

This is a member's only club set in beautiful grounds by the river off fulham road near Putney end/wandsworth end. It is very beautiful and dramatic and a great place expecially in the summer. Several restaurants inside the main house including a Pimms bra. tennis courts, squash courts, state of the art gym, mini golf, one indoor and one outdoor swimming pool and a really great playground for the kids. If you get invited to go - go. You can't go in without a member and nor can get membership unless your married to a memeber - currently the waiting list for membership is soemthing ridiculous like 25years!!! This place does lack things unfortuneately of you are a member for the membership fee you pay. The food is DREADFUL! Waiting staff are obnoxious and rude and unhelpful. The club itslef is for GERIATRICs - unless you go in the summertime during half term and tehn it's over run with children. If I knew it wasn;t impossible to get back in there I would give up membership because of the food and staff but it is the only private member's place in central london that caters for children so well and you feel like your in teh country side as soon as you enter.
