Lido serve a variety of Chinese and Peking dishes to eat in or take away. Catering for private parties of up to 30 guests is available upon request. Seating on the pavement area is provided.
We went to Lido because a friend had been there before and he said the food had previously been good.. boy were we disappointed..The service was very, very poor.. we were practically rushed into making an order, plates were taken away before we were done and rushed to pay and leave.. it was not as if we were even taking our own sweet time or that the restaurant was packed..The food was not too nice either.. they seem to like taking 'shortcuts' to their food.. the lotus leaf rice was microwaved instead of steamed as it had a chewy texture (and there were a lot of peanuts in it.. whoever puts peanuts in their lotus leaf rice?) and the pork dumpling wasn't fresh - tasted like it was from a frozen pack.. Price wise, it is good but I think there are better places where I can spend my money..Will NEVER go back again and would advise against anyone paying a visit..
I am a bit confused about the last two reviews...?!I have been going to Lido for years and I must say that the food here is excellent. The food always arrives hot and the price is very reasonable. The service is good too. The staff are always alert and friendly. Very fast service.I recommend this place to people who love REAL and TRADITIONAL chinese food.
I think the food is average too..good place to go if all the restaurants in china town are packed! However, Dimsum is quite nice though

In the heart of Chinatown, Lido is fairly run of the mill. Not good, not bad. The food comes in fairly small portions and there is a bit of pressure to go the Dim Sum route at lunchtime. The bill is slapped on the table as soon as you finish
