Owned by husband and wife team - Ken Todd and Lisa Vanderpump, Jewel is a venue that consists of 4 uniquely themed bars. Jewel itself is based on Baz Lurhman's Moulin Rouge with its rich bordeaux colours and furnishings. The show-stopping chandeliers and plethora of jewels emanate their beauty through effective lighting. Flowers, candles and general ambience all add to this venue - making it ideal for private parties and events. Celebrity guests include David & Victoria Beckham, Lulu and David Furnish.
Absolutely the worst bar in London!!!!
We booked our staff party here and I must say the event guy Michael was just a gem.The party was a huge success due to the planning and bar staff.Drinks are well good and not to expensive for the areaA place for a great time and not to toffee nose like some mayfair places
Xfactordates run Speed Dating events here their number is 0870 871 777 - very organised events!
I would rate the food/ambience etc. But I never got the chance to try any of it. We waited and waited, there was one bar staff serving about a dozen people. I have never written a review for a bar, but I'm enraged and compelled to warn people. It was a Saturday, the manager was polite enough and refunded our entrance fee of £5. Even so, I've never walked out of a bar.
Jewel doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact, considering its location right on the edge of [the not-so-trendy side of] Soho, this particular nightclub looks vaguely seedy. However inside it delights with its mixture of oversized chandeliers and ethnic furniture, an interior that seems to be ageing quite well versus other nightclubs in the immediate area (No 1 Leicester immediately springs to mind). Its also a very convenient venue, being situated immediately opposite one of the exits/entrances to Piccadilly Circus tube station. Ideal for when you need to catch that last train home and you might be a bit unsteady on your feet. The atmosphere in here is always buzzy and fun, there's a good mixture of music (in my opinion) and the service is pretty good even when its packed. The menu contains the standard fare, but who cares...you're there for the alcohol.
This bar has potential of being so much more, the staff are a little slow behind the bar, the door staff are friendly enough, and the decor is ok..This bar is a bit of tourist trap, next to the exit of picadilly tube, so good for guys looking to pull tourists, same sort of feel as the terrible ZOO bar, but better maintained..

Thanks to the position(s) (piccadilly and covent garden) and elaborate atmosphere, Jewel is one of those places where you can retire after an intense shopping session and find shelter from the overcrowded soho streets. The overall theme of the place (yeah you guessed right: jewels) is channeled through big chandeliers and contrasted by the dark and velvet furniture, so that the overall impression is flash, maybe baroque, still not overkill.

I revisited Jewel at Picadilly Circus the other day, this is a classy bar that has been around for quite a while.Going inside you are presented with a long bar with high class furnishings, sofas - soft stools really nice to chill out with your friends. Lighting is moroccan bazarr type. Going through to the back you enter the white room where food is served in private bays against the wall.It was buisy when I was there (Friday evening) but still only took me 2 mins to get served - prices were reasonable - for central london...but the kind of people who go to this bar don't really worry about prices! The atmosphere was great, everyone was really friendly and positive.A really enjoyable evening, highly reccommended if you want somewhere classy to meet friends in Picadilly Circus.
