About Us

OPM is an independent, not for-profit-centre, founded in 1989. We work with people to develop high quality management, professional practice and public engagement in organisations that aim to improve social results. We provide support across the range of organisational activities that need to be orchestrated to improve social results. This includes organisational change and development, leadership and management development, community engagement, coaching and strategy formation, media and communication, public interest research and analytical studies. We work with people in local and central government, health and community services, education and lifelong learning, housing, the media and the arts and sciences, as well as socially responsible companies, to help build strong, flexible and effective organisations. We have also developed a programme of community involvement, which includes sponsoring English Touring Theatre's Practitioners Unplugged theatre education programme, and encouraging OPM staff to volunteer on a regular basis at two local schools and to help other community organisations. In August 2002, OPM became the UK’s first public interest company.
