Everyone should visit the Jermyn Street Theatre - especially for musicals, which seem to be what they have gained such a strong reputation for (eg Forbidden Broadway, Fascinating Aida). It's a beautiful little theatre with very comfortable seats, and there are often actors in the audience. Highly recommended! Only concern might be that seating is unreserved and it sometimes sells out fast, so you might want to get there early and book in advance to get the best seats.

This tiny little theatre is so unimposing that you can easily blink and miss it. In fact, I did - several times! It took a number of strolls up and down Jermyn Street before I found the entrance to this theatre, as it is much smaller than expected for a thatre in the West End. I saw a play here a few months ago and the experience was much enhanced by this very intimate location. The play was an intense and dark biography and would not have worked so well in another theatre. Our seats were virtually on the stage and we could feel the actor's breath and sweat we were that close to them! To give you some idea of how small this theatre is, the public toilet has a curtain next to it, behind which the actors are getting changed. For the right performance, this theatre is an outstanding venue.
