Masaledar is one of Tooting's best-value Pakistani restaurants, serving delicious food with friendly service. Their specials include achari gosht, lamb cooked in pickling spices; and marage, a red kidney bean curry.
I'm afraid I have to agree with Kangaroo69 on this one - it's probably fine if you get takeaway or delivery as the food was quite good. However, achingly slow service from one of the surliest and most disagreeable waiters we've ever encountered, and a very cold dining room really let down our visit. It was a real shame as we'd taken my mum there to show her one of the many Tooting curry houses and we all left with a sour taste in our mouths. My advice is to go to Kastoori a few metres down the road instead - fabulous service and much less oily food.

I organised to meet a couple of old friends who live in Tooting and we decided to eat out. They recommended this place so off we went. It's a BYOB restaurant so we popped off to the nearby tesco first(I think there was a corkage charge). Most of the tables in there were in big groups, I went in the run-up to xmas so I guess there were a lot of parties. This did mean that it was a bit louder than I would prefer. The food here is extremely cheap, the prices could be takeaway prices really. The portions weren't small either.I got myself some keema naan and a lamb and lentil dish for my main course. The keema naan was lovely, crispy on the outside and full of flavoursome mince meat on the inside. The lamb dish was okay but it was a bit stodgy. I ended up eating only half of it and left feeling so stuffed. The service wasn't so good. They were really slow in serving us and even slower in bringing us the bill which came to around £30 (not bad for 3 people).

AS a Tooting resident, I have aten at all of the restaurants on the high street. LAst night I had the worst meal that I have ever ahd at Masaledar. The service was awful-it took 75 minutes to get the food and we waited a further 40 minutes prior to that to order.the food was dreadful; cold and full of oil. The atmosphere wass also poor; full of drunken yobs, swearing and shouting. To top it all off, when i asked to speak to the manager, the waiter refused to get him.DO NOT EAT HERE-you would be a hundred times better off at the Banana Leaf Restaurant down the road!

We often get take-aways from Masaledar, so absolutely no gripes with the food - my personal favourite is the Fish Masala. If you do visit the restaurant, the only thing I'd say is that it can be quite a noisy place, possibly due to the layout of the place. So as long as you don't mind that, highly recommended!
