    I'll start this off by saying that I'm not normally a cake or pudding kind of guy. I was hosting a dinner party last night and my friend mentioned that she could bring dessert from a place near her called Konditor and Cook. I'd never heard of it so was completely unaware of what would arrive, perhaps even a little bit sceptical too. However, after our main course my friend produced these small, beautifully presented cake boxes with individual slices of a range of their produce. I can honestly say that they formed the finest selection of desserts I've ever eaten. Peerless. We had slices of lemon cheesecake, lemon tart, a chocolate fudge cake with raspberries and a piece of brownie which were devoured, spoon after spoon by my friends and I. I simply cannot tell you how tasty these were and how good they made you feel. Outstanding!!

    I used to walk passed this bakery/confectioner on my way to and from work, peering in longingly at the delicious cakes in the window, like a 19th century street urchin. And it looks like just that kind of shop too, on the corner or a cobbled street, with little panes of glass and everything beautifully presented and tied up in ribbon. The cakes are very very good, and there's a huge variety. They also produce various breads, scones, pastries and sweets. At lunch, there's often a queue out the door for sandwiches and salads - a small menu that changes daily. It's not cheap, but they use excellent ingredients and you can really tell.
